Our Mission
At Step, we think that despite how fulfilling it is to pursue your goals, the current systems we have for self-development are never serious catalysts for growth. The truth is, people feel neither motivated nor accountable from strangers, and we think that users know that the current mechanical systems don’t actually understand them.
But for the first time, language models can provide that semantic understanding of a user’s priorities and their progress. Applications no longer need to rely on generic gamified rewards or static notifications that don’t truly resonate with anyone. Instead, Step uses this semantic understanding to act as a long form motivator that genuinely evokes those important feelings, because you honestly feel seen.
Now you can absolutely leverage LLMs to transform the amount of effort needed to plan, schedule, and track your habits—Step aims to do all of this too. But we think the core value with Step is that while it helps you track your progress, it also helps you stay on track with your progress. And it does that by learning to understand you, tailoring its communication strategies to keep you personally motivated.
That’s our mission, to help you become who you want to be, step by step.
